September 15th deadline approaching!

Heads up! September 15 is an important tax filing deadline for partnerships and corporations. It's the filing deadline for 2016 tax returns for S corporations and partnerships that received an automatic extension. The late filing penalty for both 1120S and 1065 returns is $195 per partner and month (up to 12 months). The IRS defines a month as “any part of a month.” This means that a return that is filed one day late is considered late for the entire month. Even though you may not have all the required information, it is better to file now and amend later to avoid these steep penalties. If you need assistance in meeting this deadline, feel free to contact our office.
